Australia Immigration: Immigration Cap Hiked, Check Details
For those desiring to apply for an Australian visa (Australia PR) or settle in Australia, the government has declared changes to temporary skills deficit visas that offer new routes for permanent residency (Australia PR).
Changes were created for the temporary skill shortage visa, temporary graduate visa, and working holiday maker visa. All skilled workers having these visas may find it more comfortable to apply for Australian Public Relations.
Changes in 3 Types of Visas
The Australian government declared changes to three types of visas for those hoping to immigrate to the homeland or looking for PR to immigrate to Australia from 1 July in this fiscal year 2022-23.
Temporary Skills Shortage Visa
As per the new reforms, the government presented an easier way for Australia PR or Temporary Skills Shortage (TSS) subclass 482 visa holders. As of 31 March 2022, there were over 52,000 nominees under subclass 482 and subclass 457 visas, completing all hope of applying for an Australian PR. But from July 1st, these visa holders can apply for Transitional Residence (TRT) visa.

Eligibility Criteria:
- He must have a valid subclass 482 or 457 visas in the last two years.
- Must have resided in Australia from February 1, 2020, to December 14, 2021.
- Those who are subclass 457 visa holders can use it under STSOL – Short Term Skilled Occupation List.
For a replacement visa, the candidate must be:
- Holding a temporary graduate visa expired on or after 1 February 2020.
- Must have been outside Australia between 1st February 2020, and December 15, 2021.
The purpose behind the change:
The purpose behind making changes to the visa policy is to support nominees who have lost their approval due to restrictions set due to the COVID pandemic.
According to official figures, about 30,000 candidates have these visas. However, their visa time will be extended based on merit and stream as per norms.
The country aims to invite all the skilled individuals who will give a real boost to the economic development of the country, which was badly impacted by the impact of the pandemic.
Working Holiday Maker Visa:
The Australian government also raised the limitation for Australia under the subclass 462 visa to 30% for the fiscal year 2022-23. As per the new reforms reported on July 1, 2022, the country got entry into the Working Holiday Maker Visa program. Apart from this, Australia also marked a “Free Trade Agreement” with India on 2 April 2022.
