Express Entry Draw: Canada Again Breaks PNP Records

Canada has once again cracked the record for the biggest Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), the Express Entry draw, with 1,070 ITAs issued.

Canada PNP Draw

The 2 February 2022 draw demanded a minimum CRS score of 674 points, 71 shorter than the previous PNP draw.

The last record number of ITAs for the PNP draw was 1,036 allocated in January 2022.

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) continue to avoid keeping all event draws, the last of which took place in December 2020. It says it is focusing on clearing the existing critical backlog before issuing a large number of ITAs.

Canada has so far allocated 2,498 invitations, all to PNP nominees, in 2022.

IRCC released a record 114,431 ITAs for all Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and PNP nominees in 2021. This broke the last record of 107,350 set in 2020.

During the coronavirus crisis, the IRCC has changed to draws for PNP and CEC candidates, to focus on nominees already on work or study permits in Canada.

The latest draw saw the tie-breaking rule come into force on 18 February 2021 at 1.05 pm EST. If more than one candidate had a minimum CRS score, only those who offered their Express Entry profiles before were this date & time invited.
