Express Entry Draw: Canada Again Breaks Record Of PNP Draw

Canada carried a new express entry draw on January 19, requesting 1,036 immigrants to apply for permanent residency.

CRS Score Cutoff

IRCC only asked candidates from the PNP.  For this reason, the CRS score cutoff was 745. PNP candidates get 600 marks automatically counted to their score on receipt of the nomination, which is why the score appears to increase.

All the express entry draws from September are available for PNP immigrants only. The last time Canadian Experience Class candidates were invited was on September 14.

Till now in 2022, IRCC has asked a total of 1,428 PNP candidates under Express Entry. Generally, the CRS cut-off has been in the 700-800 range during the last 10 PNP-specific Express Entry draws.

What is Express Entry Draw?

Express Entry is the management system of application for 3 Canadian immigration programs:

  • Canadian Experience Class,
  • Federal Skilled Worker Program,
  • Federal Skilled Business Program

PNP candidates in the Express Entry pool have already prepared for one of these programs.

Express Entry uses the CRS, a points-based system, to rank the profiles of Immigrants. Top scoring applicants receive an ITA, and can then apply for PR.

Thereafter, an IRCC official reviews their application and assumes a decision.

After that, IRCC will ask for biometrics and can set up an interview or request more documents.

If the application is authorized, the IRCC issues a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR). Approved permanent residents can then finish the landing procedure. If they are outside Canada, they can use pre-arrival benefits to help them with their first steps in settling in Canada.
