Germany to Ease Work Visa Rules for Indian IT Experts

Germany Work Visa: Germany is facing a shortage of skilled workers and is looking for ways to simplify the process of obtaining Germany Work Visa for Indian IT experts. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has announced that the government wants to ease the path to issuing such visas in all areas of employment, but particularly in software and IT development.

There are currently around two million unfilled job positions in Germany, and its language barrier makes it less attractive to immigrants compared to neighbouring countries like Britain, Spain and France.

To address the labour shortage, Germany is reportedly planning to make the EU Blue Card more easily available, especially for tech specialists. The blue card is a work permit that allows highly skilled non-EU citizens to work and live in 25 of the 27 EU countries.

Germany is also willing to let immigrants work in and out of their field of expertise without requiring a formal recognition of their degrees. Furthermore, Germany may allow employers to hire foreigners for short periods regardless of the special qualification requirements, although the number of workers will be capped.

Opportunity Card

The German government is also planning to launch a new points-based “opportunity card” that will take into account details like qualifications, language skills, and age, with points awarded based on the ability to learn German.

Lastly, Germany wants to make it possible for immigrants to obtain professional qualifications for a job after they arrive in the country to help employers hire foreign specialists quickly.
