Canada Express Entry: Reopen PR Program, Check Jobs and Apply

Canada will resume all of its Express Entry draws on 6 July. Canada first imposed restrictions 18 months ago at the start of the pandemic.

Immigration Minister Sean Fraser took to Twitter to invite all eligible candidates to apply under

• Federal Skilled Worker program
• Federal Skilled Trades program
• Canadian Experience Class

This comes at a time when the country is already struggling to deal with massive processing delays. As of June 6, 2022, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) had an immigration backlog of about 2.4 million people, according to data shared with ET.

How does Express Entry work?

Express Entry is a two-stage process.

In phase one, nominees need to guarantee that they meet the standards for at least one of the three Express Admission programs.

Candidates can upload their Express Entry Profile on the IRCC website if they satisfy the criteria. Candidates acquire a CRS score established on their human capital factors such as age, education, language skills, and work experience.

Those invited for permanent residency have 60 days to submit their application to IRCC. IRCC aims to process most applications in 6 months or less.
