USA May Not Hold Second H-1B Visa Lottery For FY23

The US may not hold a second lottery for H-1B visas for the fiscal year 2023. From TOI report, immigration lawyers have reported issuing H-1B cap ‘non-selection’ notices – an expression that no second lottery will be held.

There may not be a second H-1B lottery this year. USCIS has issued several ‘non-selection’ notices electronically, which is a measure taken only if there will be no more lottery,” said Rajeev Khanna, Immigration.com’s managing counsel.

No formal announcement has been made by USCIS yet.

483,927 H-1B Cap Enrollments

The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) obtained 483,927 H-1B cap enrollments this fiscal year, a 57% gain over the last season. Of these, USCIS has set 127,600 registrants (26%) to fulfill the H-1B quota.

H-1B cap
