What is the Blue Card Program in Germany?

The German EU Blue Card is a residence and work permit for non-EEA/EU nationals. Beneficiaries of the EU blue card have the right to live and work not only in Germany but anywhere in Europe (except Denmark and Ireland). These individuals may also eventually apply for citizenship in Europe.

What are the conditions for the application of the EU Blue Card?

To be eligible for the EU Blue Card in Germany, you must meet the following conditions:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in your field of work for a European visa.
  • You must be holding a work contract or have a job offer from a German-based employer.
  • Your job offer must be related to your qualifications and work experience.
  • You must be offered a gross annual salary of at least €58,400.
  • You should have a Master’s degree or any equivalent in your field or work. Your degree must be recognized in Germany.

  • Personalized CV describing your academic and professional background.
  • Copy of previous passports.
  • Two passport-size photographs.
  • Proof of work experience.

  • Visa fee receipt.
